Oscar de la Hoya Leaks Canelo Alvarez ‘Cheating’ Claim

Oscar De La Hoya came to the defense of Canelo Alvarez on social media via Twitter after it was revealed that boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, who Alvarez signed a two-fight deal with allegedly called Canelo a ‘cheater’. On Twitter, De La Hoya would tweet: “Look at your fucking promoter accusing you, and I’m always in your corner defending.” Oscar De La Hoya ‘warned’ Jake Paul in this recently released video.

It should be noted that in early 2018, Alvarez tested positive for clenbuterol, which is a banned substance during a random urine test a month earlier. The consequences for this was a six-month suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

In other news regarding Oscar De La Hoya, the legendary boxer could be in the ring again very soon as fellow boxing icon Ricky Hatton recently voiced his desire to face De La Hoya in a ‘legends fight’. Hatton made the comments in his column for the UK based outlet ‘Metro’. Credit to DAZN for the below.

“I’ll have a move about with Oscar De La Hoya if the opportunity comes, Oscar was a hero to a lot of people in boxing so it would be interesting even if it is only an exhibition. To share the ring with him and find out first-hand how good he was and maybe still is.”
Hatton continued: “It looks like he might be fighting former UFC fighter Vitor Belfort now but there is any number of boxers who would want it if Oscar keeps talking about it. Miguel Cotto would be a good one, Shane Mosley still looks after himself.

Hatton concluded: “The list goes on, me and Cotto, me and De La Hoya, De La Hoya vs Juan Manuel Marquez maybe! There are so many more. And I think I speak for all fight fans when I say we’d love to see a couple of these.”
