Paddy Pimblett recently picked up a dominating first-round win via submission against Rodrigo Vargas at the UFC London event. It was a spectacular event with a number of some insane finishes to the matches.
Paddy Pimblett receives a huge bump to his paycheck
The UFC President Dana White usually hands performance bonuses to as six fighters. But this time around, he was so impressed that he declared that every fighter who earned a finish would receive a whopping $50,000. That indicates that Pimblet, who won by a submission received the amount as well.
He is not the only one to receive that as the other eight fighters received a huge boost to their paychecks as well. It includes Tom Aspinall, Arnold Allen, Molly McCann, Ilia Topuria, Makwan Amirkhani, Sergei Pavlovich, Paul Craig, and Muhammad Mokaev. Of the nine fighters earning a bonus, six of them were from the UK .
At the UFC London post-fight press conference White reflected on the bonus as he said:
“Nine bonuses tonight. Every finish. And I couldn’t be happier to do it.”
White expressed his desire to make some alterations in the UFC 2022 schedule in order to return as soon as possible.
“This is the greatest batch of talent we’ve ever seen in the history of the UK and tonight we were going to find out how they’d do. And they killed it. We have so many options now, so many things we could do. That’s why we’re going to go home and I’m going to figure out immediately how to come back here. I don’t know where we’ll go or what we’ll do yet. But like you said we have nothing but options.”
