Paige lashes out at Vince McMahon’s third party ban and Twitch takeover

Vince McMahon sent out a letter in September, urging talents to sever all third party engagements. Several WWE Superstars regularly stream on their Twitch, Cameo, YouTube, and other accounts to interact with fans. Paige is one of them.

Despite being retired from the ring, WWE Superstar Paige is still under the company’s contract. She has not taken kindly to this new edict by Vince McMahon.

Paige voices her opinion on third party ban

In a second mail this week, McMahon reminded the performers that the last day of terminating third party business relationships was this Friday, October 2. It was also reported that WWE is likely to take over ownership and control of the talents’ Twitch accounts for weeks from now. However, the talents will receive a certain percentage of the revenue incurred from their accounts.

Paige took to Twitter to express her displeasure at this decision.

She said:

“Twitch is MY place what I built with my wonderful fans. A place where people can go and feel some positivity and little bit of normalcy. Fun. Interactive. Non judgemental. Charitable place. I’m proud of what I built with my fan base.”

Paige is not the only WWE Superstar who is outraged with the rule. Many other have built a strong fanbase on these platforms and they are not happy either.

Earlier WWE had clarified that Superstars could hold on to their accounts, but not under their ring name. They were allowed to use their real names and run the accounts, as long as they kept the company informed.

It seems like there has been a change in the flexibility of the rule since then.
