Paige looks back on her last WWE match that took place a year ago

It has been an entire year since we last saw Paige in the WWE ring, where she got a career ending injury with a kick to the neck.

Paige participated in a six-woman tag team match with Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose to take on the team of Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Mickie James on 28 December, 2017 in Uniondale, New York. She suffered the injury during the match when took a kick from Sasha Banks, which prompted the referee to stop the match. Paige had to be carried backstage by officials.

Paige announced that she would be permanently retiring from in-ring competition due to the neck injury on the post-WrestleMania episode of Raw in April. This was not the end of her time in WWE though, as she would be made the General Manager of SmackDown Live the next day.

Paige took to Twitter to look back on her last match and said that she feels 2019 is going to be wonderful year for her.

“One year since the night in Uniondale,” Paige wrote. “So crazy how quickly time passes. 2019 is gonna be a wonderful year. I can feel it!”

Paige had a fairly good time in WWE this year despite permanently retiring from in-ring competition. She was, however, removed from the position of GM when the McMahons announced they are going to take over. What do you think the next year has in store for the former leader of Absolution?
