The former WWE Divas Champion Paige(now Saraya) made a shocking debut at last night’s AEW Dynamite Grand Slam. It has been noted that the fans were not able to detect her entering the building. She has now revealed a picture which was shot outside the building and she was unrecognizable in the picture. She was seen wearing an oversized hoodie and also rocked the shades as she posed for the snap.
Paige makes her AEW debut
AEW Dynamite Grand Slam saw a Fatal Four-way match for the Interim AEW Women’s World Championship that featured the reigning champ Toni Storm, Serena Deeb, Athena, and Britt Baker. After Storm successfully retained her title, the former WWE star made her way down to the ring, much to the crowd’s shock.
During the post-match segment, Saraya came to the aid of Storm and Athena as the heels were assaulting them.
It has been noted that Paige had been struggling with neck issues over the past few years that had put a halt on her in-ring career. She was under a contract with WWE but she recently announced that she’d soon be ending her long run with WWE. She shocked the wrestling world when she announced that she’ll be leaving WWE in July. It was then revealed that WWE didn’t want to re-sign Paige to a new contract.
While speaking during her Turning The Page stage show at Starrcast V, Paige had made it clear that she has no intention of joining AEW anytime soon:
“I’m in the middle of writing a book right now, which I’m really excited about. We got a book, it’s going to be another year before it officially comes out. We’re in the middle of writing that. We’re doing other things, but I’m not allowed to say anything right now. It’s non-wrestling related, sorry guys. I’m not going to be going to AEW anytime soon. AEW seems great. I love AEW. I would love to face Britt Baker one day if the time is right, that would be awesome. All my friends are there now.”
