WWE chairman Vince McMahon recently received an intriguing message from the former WWE Divas Champion Paige. The former two-time Divas Champion’s career was cut short back in 2018 due to neck injuries. Before announcing her retirement, she became the General Manager of Friday Night SmackDown. Paige previously posted ‘plastic surgery’ photo for WWE fans.
Vince McMahon was questioned by Paige
Taking to Twitter, she subtly asked McMahon to bring her back as a general manager. She could be referring to the GM mode that WWE has brought back in the latest 2K22 video game:
“Yo @WWE @VinceMcMahon since you brought GMs back a while ago,” she wrote in her tweet.
Paige took the role of General Manager of the blue brand and had worked with the then-Commissioner of the brand, Shane McMahon. She remained in the role until December 2018 when the McMahon family announced that they will be taking charge of the shows themselves.
Paige has made multiple on-screen appearances for WWE but she is yet to make her in-ring return. However, she has been teasing an in-ring return since last year. With WWE Royal Rumble 2022 approaching soon, fans have been very vocal about wanting to see her back one more time.
WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair previously gave a preview of the Women’s Royal Rumble, where it was revealed that seven stars of the past would return – including Lita, Summer Rae, The Bella Twins, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, and Mickie James. This will be the fifth installment of the Women’s Royal Rumble match and who knows, we might end up witnessing the much-awaited return of Paige.
Paige was announced as WWE SmackDown General Manager the day after revealing her in-ring retirement on the April 10th, 2018 edition of WWE SmackDown Live, this would disband her group Absolution in the process. She would stay in this role until December of that same year.
