Paige VanZant ‘Breaks Down Crying’ In Parking Lot

BKFC fighter Paige VanZant was recently featured in a video clip on A Kickass Love Story: With Paige & Austin where she was seen talking about her fight against Rachael Ostovich at BKFC 19. She recalled the fight which she had lost. She revealed that she was in tears after the fight and had a terrible mental state, and teared up in the video as well.

 


 

Paige VanZant on mental health:

“When I walked out of the ring, I cried in the parking lot by myself. I said some things to my husband that were pretty terrible about my mental state. I told him I didn’t want to live anymore.”

“Mental health is no joke, I think people need to start taking mental health more seriously.”

Rachael Ostovich not only earned her first promotional win at BKFC 19, but her first performance accolade as well. Ostovich had won the bout against VanZant via a unanimous decision victory in the main event of bare-knuckle showcase in Tampa, Fla. The Hawaiian fighter was able to avenge the loss after “12 Gauge” picked up a second-round submission win of Ostovich in the octagon at UFC on ESPN+ 1 in January 2019. While Ostovich picked up her first BKFC victory, VanZant dropped to 0-2 in the promotion.

Paige VanZant was out-worked over the course of four rounds but came back strong in the fifth and final round of the fight. However, that did not yield any outcomefor her as Ostovich’s early work paid off on the judges’ scorecards. The fight’s official verdict was a unanimous decision win for Rachael Ostovich, who beat Paige VanZant with scores of 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46.
