Paige’s Ex-WWE Boyfriend Drops Addiction Bombshell

Former WWE Superstar and RAW General Manager Brad Maddox, who was Paige’s ex-boyfriend, has recently opened up about a difficult period in his life, during which he struggled with a sex addiction that caused him to lose focus on his career.

Maddox, who was a fixture in WWE for seven years from 2008 to 2015, is perhaps best known for his role as a WWE official and his tenure as the RAW General Manager. During his time with the company, he also had notable run-ins with The Authority and Kane.

Speaking on the podcast Wrestling With Rip Rogers, Maddox revealed that he had a porn addiction which later developed into a sex addiction, causing him to lose his focus and miss out on opportunities in his WWE career.

“I was one of those stories where they just kind of lost their way. I got caught up in some things. Now, I’m sure you know the news. It’s fairly old at this point, right? Yeah, some stuff leaks, but it was kind of that time period. So, I had a porn addiction. Then that cascaded into a sex addiction, and that was a whole thing for me. That was just very mind-consuming.”

Maddox went on to explain that during this period, he was unable to fully capitalize on the opportunities presented to him and that his ego was too big. As a referee, he had to carry a walkie-talkie around, which he felt was beneath him.

“So I wasn’t very focused, right at the time when I should have been. And then I’m going up there as a referee, and I’m having to carry a walkie-talkie around, and my ego was just too big. I didn’t fully take advantage of the opportunities.”

Maddox’s story serves as a reminder of the dangers of addiction and the importance of seeking help when struggling with these issues. While it may be difficult to admit to a problem, taking steps to address it can be a crucial first step toward recovery and getting back on track.
