Pat McAfee In Huge Trouble With WWE?

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is quite particular when it comes down to mentioning names in WWE. Chris Benoit is a name that WWE hasn’t referenced in years and it is due to his controversial death which forced WWE to avoid mentioning him. Though he had an illustrious in-ring career, WWE never mentions his name. On the latest episode of SmackDown, commentator Pat McAfee referenced ‘The Rabid Wolverine’ and seemingly gave a recently-debuted star Benoit’s old nickname.

Pat McAfee might face consequences

On the latest episode of SmackDown, a highlight reel was shown of Butch’s outburst after the former Pete Dunne lost his in-ring debut to Xavier Woods. Then, Pat McAfee called him “The Rabid Wolverine,” referencing Chris Benoit and seemingly giving the former NXT star Benoit’s nickname. This might land McAfee in a whole lot of trouble. WWE Chairman doesn’t tolerate slip-ups and McAfee might be reprimanded for that. However, it is not known whether it was a error or agreed upon beforehand.

WrestleMania 38 Night 2 saw WWE Chairman Vince McMahon getting in the ring for a match. He squared off against Pat McAfee who picked up a huge win against Austin Theory. ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, who made his in-ring return after 19 years at WrestleMania Saturday once again showed up on Sunday. He had hit a Stunner on Vince which he botched in a huge manner.

McMahon was in his protege, Austin Theory’s corner for his singles match against Pat McAfee at WrestleMania Night 2. After Theory lost the match, McMahon entered the ring and a referee came out for an impromptu match. Vince got an assist from Theory, and he managed to defeat McAfee. This also marked his first WrestleMania victory.
