Paul Heyman was fired from his position as the Executive Director of Monday Night RAW. This decision certainly shocked many people, but some saw it coming. Heyman was originally announced for the position back in June 2019.
Vince McMahon’s opinion regarding someone in WWE can make or break their career. According to a report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it seems some in the company were not surprised at Heyman being fired due to Vince McMahon disliking him. One person, in particular, expressed his shock that Paul Heyman was not fired earlier.
One person on the front office side said, “I am shocked it took this long. Everyone knew it was coming. Vince did not like Paul.”
Bruce Prichard will be overseeing both RAW and Smackdown now. He has a long history with Vince McMahon and his opinion is valued by him.
Heyman will still be making appearances as on-screen talent, but they will likely not be often as Brock Lesnar rarely makes appearances on WWE television.
