Paul Heyman responsible for Austin Theory call-up

After spending a few weeks on Monday Night RAW, Austin Theory officially became a member of the red brand. He also competed in a match at WrestleMania 36.

While Vince McMahon still has the last word in everything that goes on in the company, he was helped by someone in order to pick Austin Theory. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Paul Heyman helped call-up Theory.

Meltzer said that the idea was not Vince’s, but Heyman’s, to bring up Austin Theory. They simply needed someone for WrestleMania and they were sufficiently impressed with him. Meltzer added that it was “way too early” but that is simply the current situation. He also said that the idea of the three-person stable along with Zelina was well received.

Theory did not spend much time on NXT before being called up to the main roster. He will be getting more exposure due to him being a main roster Superstar. We will have to see how WWE will book him.
