Paul Heyman is the Executive Director of WWE RAW. He has many ideas in order to help Superstars get over. It seems one of the ideas included the return of squash matches.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Paul Heyman trying everything but the kitchen sink to get Superstars and their moves over. So Heyman brought back two-minute squash matches against enhancement talent. It is tried and tested formula that has shown success in the past, as it did for Braun Strowman.
We will have to see how long it will take until they can make legitimate stars out of someone like Erick Rowan, by making him face tougher competition. Perhaps we will get to know what he has in the cage before that as well.
