Paul Heyman Slapped Big WWE Name Backstage

Paul Heyman is a brilliant mind and his opinion regarding a lot of things in the world of pro wrestling matters a lot. He has single-handedly helped put over Roman Reigns and that is why Reigns is arguably the biggest star in WWE right now. Paul Heyman also previously asked an AEW star to defeat Brock Lesnar.

In the early 2000s, Heyman was SmackDown’s lead writer while Brian Gewirtz worked in the same position on RAW. They had beef after a minor altercation over a booking disagreement.
Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Riju Dasgupta, Gewirtz downplayed suggestions that he and Heyman engaged in a fist fight.
“That’s a very, very generous way of putting it. I think that’s an insult to fist fights! I don’t think fists were ever actually involved. I think perhaps some light swatting for a few seconds was the extent of it.
I see Paul backstage now at WWE shows whenever I go backstage. I always try to go to the Garden or to Brooklyn. If I’m in LA at whatever the arena is now called, I’ll try to see them too. I even saw Paul in the street once walking back to the subway from a [New York] Knicks game. There’s a lot of love. There’s a lot of hugs. There’s a lot of ‘we’ve been through the wars together’ kinda thing. There’s a mutual respect.”
