Paul Heyman wants to ‘slow push’ RAW superstar

Paul Heyman on CM Punk

Paul Heyman is the Executive Director of RAW and so he can make major decisions for the future of the brand. It seems that he has big plans for Cedric Alexander.

According to a report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Paul Heyman wants to give Cedric Alexander a “slow push.” This will most likely not result in a US Title victory at Clash Of Champions for Alexander, but the plans will see Alexander make his way to the top.

A.J. Styles defends the U.S. title against Cedric Alexander with Alexander being one of the wrestlers Paul Heyman wants to give a slow push to the top rung.

We wonder how Cedric Alexander will be pushed and it will be great to see him eventually become a top star. He is a very talented superstar and fans love to see him.

  • So you’re saying that made-up names like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Braun Strowman, Bray Wyatt, etc. etc, aren’t generic sounding? As a matter of fact, there was a good stretch of time there were pretty much every wrestler in WWE developmental, and even many main roster stars, were given painfully dumb/generic named. Remember Michael McGillicutty? That’s the name they first game Joe Hennig, the son of Mr. Perfect, aka Curtis Axel (which is still a lame name IMO). Remember Skip Sheffield? That was the original name they gave to one Ryback, prior to him wanting to be fed more. There’s plenty more examples.

The point being, Cedric Alexander is far from the most generic sounding name a recent wrestler has had. Hell, they gave BRYAN DANIELSON, his real name, the name “Daniel Bryan”, which I still consider to be one of the single dumbest wrestling name moves in the history of the industry.

…is it generic? I can’t think of many wrestlers named Cedric

Take anything Harrison writes with a grain of salt. Most of his articles have been contrary to the fact.

  • BB

I just can’t get behind Cedric. The guy is too bland.

  • Sparti Love

Heyman is known for taking generic wrestlers and making them stars

  • CC

This makes zero sense. He has already been on a push of sorts recently, and now he has a US title shot at a PPV, so why are we being told he is going to get a slow push when he is already in the middle of a push?

  • rob

ok… but why a generic wrestler with a generic name like cedric alexander deserved a push?
