As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The current RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman had made the call to start building towards a match between Becky Lynch and Asuka for early 2020 months back. With Becky Lynch’s remarkable promo on RAW this past week, it is clear that we will be seeing The Man take on The Emperess of Tomorrow very soon.
Asuka is currently the Women’s Tag Team Champion along with Kairi Sane, and the team collectively known as Kabuki Warriors were successful in defending their championships against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair at WWE TLC.
The current RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has had a poor track record against Asuka, which was one of the reasons Lynch appealed to Asuka to have a match with her. Asuka had beaten Becky Lynch clean for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at last year’s Royal Rumble, so a rematch from last year could really help The Man establish her dominance if he wins.
