Plans for Extreme Rules changed by WWE

Kofi Kingston defeated Dolph Ziggler and retained his WWE Title at WWE Stomping Grounds. The following night on RAW, he was decimated by a new challenger.

While Samoa Joe lost his United States Title to Ricochet at WWE Stomping Grounds, he already has his sights set on another championship. He attacked Kofi Kingston this week on RAW and now a feud between the two has been set up for Extreme Rules.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted how due to this, the initial plans for a championship match between Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston and Kevin Owens is no longer taking place. The match was advertised for Extreme Rules before, but it will not happen anymore.

Bryan Alvarez noted that Ziggler might show up on Smackdown Live, to which Dave Meltzer said that even if he shows up on Smackdown Live, it won’t matter as Kofi will be feuding with Samoa Joe.

    Like he ever really did.
He knows there is no way to prove his original story right or wrong, so he comes out with this crap.

“Plans changed” is just Meltzer speak for “I don’t really know what I’m talking about anymore”

  • Rob ‘Richard Hammond’ Picken

    Well this is pretty predictable..

I mean I love Joe and he deserves so much better, but we all know whenever he’s in the WWE title picture he’s not winning

  • ROB-1.

I guess Ziggler will say again: It should have been me.

Or more accurately Dave Meltzer admitted he got it wrong about the plans for Ziggler/Kingston/Owens match and is now telling us what is obvious to everyone.
The fact Joe lost at Stomping grounds tells you this was the plan all along.

Meltzer just cannot admit his original “insider info” was wrong,
