Plans for Extreme Rules changed by WWE

Kofi Kingston defeated Dolph Ziggler and retained his WWE Title at WWE Stomping Grounds. The following night on RAW, he was decimated by a new challenger.

While Samoa Joe lost his United States Title to Ricochet at WWE Stomping Grounds, he already has his sights set on another championship. He attacked Kofi Kingston this week on RAW and now a feud between the two has been set up for Extreme Rules.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted how due to this, the initial plans for a championship match between Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston and Kevin Owens is no longer taking place. The match was advertised for Extreme Rules before, but it will not happen anymore.

Bryan Alvarez noted that Ziggler might show up on Smackdown Live, to which Dave Meltzer said that even if he shows up on Smackdown Live, it won’t matter as Kofi will be feuding with Samoa Joe.
