Podcast: AEW Dynamite Makes Even Less Sense In Week 2

  • Dirt McGirt

What you love is the hot steaming diaper vince gives you every week. If you think AEW is trying to be WWE, you’re wrong. That’s why they do things differently. They aren’t going to have 20 minute promos or convoluted storylines. You don’t seem to grasp that they are different and are trying to be different.

  • Bilal

Dam it I can’t argue with that!

  • Michael Justin Arnold

Umm, UFC is a real sport, and even then the judges get the decision wrong tons of times.

  • Bilal

This is a great point, I might take a break as well.

  • Bilal

Fair enough here is why: Darby was seconds away from losing but due to a time limit his match with Cody was a “draw” and he got a title shot based on a fluke win he had no business being in. Plus you know UFC is doing great with scoring matches why not do that?

  • D_Ohm

More or less this was my take on Dynamite thus far. I think there’s too many video packages but I also realize that AEW is starting from scratch and needs to establish themselves to an audience that is less Informed about non-WWE wrestling. So I’ve decided to follow AEW but start watching again in a few months when they’re fully up and running.

  • Michael Justin Arnold

I dont understand why everyone complains about the match time limits? Apparently y’all didn’t watch WWF in the 80’s/early 90’s cuz time limits were announced for every match back then

  • Bilal

Well that “really want to matter” part is pretty true. If you actually listened to the full podcast I explained where everything from the time limit, to the booking, to the sloppy production is my issue. I actually really want to love the AEW product but they are cutting corners and resting on wrestling and little else.

  • Bilal

I agree with alot of your points but even the production and commentary these people aren’t all rookies.

  • CC

I am not even gonna listen to this podcast because saying it “makes no sense” really tells me all I need (plus a previous blog I listened to made me turn off about 2 or 3 mins in).
I will be the first to say that one of the faults with AEW right now is most of the matches lack any real back story, something that can help you invest more in a match and the heel/face allegiance with some guys seems to swap regularly, but at the same time I fully understand why. WWE has a huge history to fall back on and is an established promotion. Same with Impact, RoH, CZW, NJPW and every other long term promotion. AEW will need a few months before it can fully establish itself and we have to understand that to get to that point things are going to be all over the place.
The matches are great, but everything else that comes with making an engaging wrestling show can only come with time. Mistakes will be made as nobody is perfect, but to start complaining it makes no sense is just silly right now.

  • Dirt McGirt

That makes two of us. As I was listening, I was thinking to myself, “boy, this guy really wants to matter.”

  • Stopped listening after 2 min. All I hear is a wannabe Jim Cornette except Corny liked last week’s show

  • Dirt McGirt

The majority of the contributors on this site are either WWE marks or AEW marks, there is no middle ground or any actual reporters.

Dude you don’t like AEW we get it, but it’s a developing product and if a developer version of your product beats your ass that tells you something about WWE product, they don’t have the production experience nor the trust to have insane amounts of money thrown in there like WWE, but at least they have kept a consistent storyline for the last 2 weeks without dropping them with no explanation or reason
