Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, there have been no live crowds for the past couple of months in WWE. Asuka has certainly thrived during these times. She has been a focus on WWE television and on top of that she is now the RAW Women’s Champion. It seems she has also become a babyface.
According to various reports, the red brand sorely needs a top babyface currently, especially now that Becky Lynch is taking a long period of maternal leave. With the likes of Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax in line for title matches for the next few months, this was a necessary decision. It helped that fans enjoyed watching Asuka and Kairi Sane together as well.
Shayna Baszler will have her sights set on Asuka’s title. Nia Jax is also on RAW and she was going to face Becky Lynch at Money In The Bank, but plans changed.
Asuka has finally become the face of the women’s division after a long time. It will be interesting to see how she is booked.
