The relationship between Roman Reigns and Vince McMahon is far from good currently. Reigns did not work WrestleMania 36 due to COVID-19 and has been absent from WWE television ever since.
Vince McMahon ordered that Reigns not be mentioned on television. He was also removed from a WrestleMania 31 clip on this week’s RAW. The company is also selling face masks with designs of Superstars, but Roman Reigns is not included.
On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez talked about McMahon’s relationship with Roman Reigns. Alvarez pointed out that WWE only reluctantly canceled shows and that too at the last possible minute. Even after that, they carried on as usual with live shows every week despite facing much criticism over the matter.
Alvarez says that if WWE took the matter so casually and then got “mad at” Roman Reigns for going home despite his battles with leukemia, it simply proves that they do not consider COVID-19 to be a serious matter at all. Alvarez also talked about Vince McMahon still carrying on as normal despite being at high risk due to his age group which is more proof of how lightly they are taking the situation.
It is very likely Reigns will return once the COVID-19 outbreak subsides. Till then, the company will not make any mention of him.
