AEW World Tag Team Champion Cash Wheeler (Dash Wilder in WWE) was arrested on Friday morning in Orlando, Florida. Video of Wheeler in court after his arrest has leaked as well.
It has come to light that Cash Wheeler was taken into custody by the Orlando Police Department and subsequently charged with a single count of aggravated assault with a firearm. County records indicate that he was booked in Circuit Court.
According to Florida public records, the incident that led to Wheeler’s arrest took place several weeks ago. A warrant for his arrest was issued on July 28. He entered a “not guilty” plea on August 3 and was arrested on the morning, of August 3.
During his arraignment hearing on August 18, Wheeler’s lawyer requested bond be set at $2,500. It was stated that the incident was not a domestic issue and that Wheeler did not know the other parties.
It has been noted that the state noted that the incident “appeared to be a road rage-type incident” and Wheeler allegedly flashed a gun at the alleged victim.
Wheeler’s bond was set at $2,500 and he was ordered to turn in any weapons he owns to the Orange County Sherriff’s Office within 12 hours of his release. He was also ordered to have no contact with the alleged victims.
AEW issued the following statement to the Orlando Sentinel: “AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. (Wheeler) is fully cooperating with local authorities.”
