Randy Orton Family Drops Sad Health Bombshell

The veteran WWE star Randy Orton has been dealing with his back injuries over the years and it has been well documented. Even his tag-team partner Riddle openly spoke about Randy Orton taking time away to heal nagging back injuries. Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp also reported that WWE is concerned that Randy Orton could be out of action for the rest of the year with a genuine injury. Now, Randy’s father, Bob Orton shared his take on the matter.

Bob Orton comments on Randy Orton’s back injuries

Cowboy Bob has spoken with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda and commented on his son’s injury. Bob, who wrestled for many decades himself, noted that with this being Randy’s 20th anniversary as a WWE Superstar, the injuries are beginning to mount up.

“He’s got a little bit of a back problem. I think he’ll take care of everything. You know with rehab and everything. After 20, you know, more than 20 years, wear and tear on the body is just, you know, too much.”

Randy Orton is reportedly under a 120 date WWE contract per year, and he’s overworked his dates to help WWE return to live event touring, leading to his recent hiatus. Billi Bhatti reported this rumor on Twitter. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that Riddle will challenge for Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Money in the Bank on July 2. It was previously noted that Orton would also set to receive a title match against The Tribal Chief at SummerSlam on July 30. We will have to see if those plans are materialized.
