Did Randy Orton finally become a Grand Slam Champion at WWE Fastlane?

Randy Orton has, without question, had a hall of fame career. The Viper will go down as one of the greatest of all time. Since his debut, he has had rivalries with the likes of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, even Hulk Hogan.

The former WWE champion has captured almost every single title under the sun in the WWE. To date, Randy Orton has held:

  • WWE/World Heavyweight Championship: 13
  • World Tag Team Championship: 1 w/Edge
  • Smackdown Tag Team Championship: 1 w/ The Wyatt Family
  • Intercontinental Championship: 1

Orton has also won the Royal Rumble twice, both in 2009 and 2017, and won the MITB in 2013. With all of his titles, he is a Triple Crown Champion, and now he is officially a Grand Slam Champion.

To become a Grand Slam Champion in the WWE, you must hold one tag title, both mid-card titles, and one heavyweight title. Therefore, Orton does not need the Universal Championship to attain the status of Grand Slam Champion.

At WWE Fastlane, Randy Orton defeated Bobby Roode for the WWE United States Championship, finally capturing the one title that has eluded him his whole career.

After the match, Jinder Mahal assaulted the new champ, only for Bobby Roode to take them both out, hitting them with a pair of Glorious DDTs. So it seems that Randy Orton will defend his title in a Triple Threat match at WrestleMania.
