Raw and SmackDown confirmed to be getting new sets

It was reported a while back that Raw and SmackDown Live will be getting new sets after SmackDown moves to Fox and now these reports have been confirmed.

Dave Meltzer talked about the report in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter and confirmed that the shows will be getting a facelift:

“The idea is to give a facelift to a somewhat stale product, with new sets for Raw and Smackdown, new announcing teams and in a few weeks, new separate rosters. WWE is also going to bring back pyro to television.”

WWE is heavily promoting this Monday’s episode of Raw as the season premiere episode of the show so it’s likely that we will get the first look of the new sets during the same episode.

This is not the only change we are going to see in the upcoming time as the company has announced major changes to its announce team already and they are also expected to shuffle the rosters of both Raw and SmackDown Live in the upcoming drafts.
