The real reason why Andrade was not drafted in the WWE Draft

Former US Champion Andrade and former Women’s Champion Mickie James were two of the biggest names to be left out in the WWE Draft this year.

A recent exclusive report by Wrestling Inc further shed light on the real reason why Andrade was not drafted during this year’s WWE Draft that took place over two nights of RAW and SmackDown episodes.

Reason why Andrade was left out

The report said that Andrade is currently going through a minor elective surgery. The procedure and its recovery might keep him out of the ring for a little while – maybe a  month. As per a source close to the situation, he is going to get a push when he comes back to action.

“Wrestling Inc. has learned that Andrade hasn’t been drafted because he is undergoing a minor elective procedure. He is expected to be out of action for about a month. According to a source familiar with a situation, he is expected to receive a push when he returns.”

Mickie James is out with broken nose as well, which she herself revealed on her YouTube channel, GAW TV. She suffered the injury in a match for the RAW Women’s title against the current Champion, Asuka.

Andrade and Charlotte Flair deletes Draft-related tweet

It was reported earlier that both the Superstars could possibly end up on RAW roster. Charlotte Flair has also been drafted to the Red Brand on the second night. Fans are speculating if the real-life pair of Flair and Andrade might come together in a WWE storyline in the future.

Both Andrade and Flair posted tweets regarding the WWE Draft after it ended on last week’s episode of RAW. Andrade wrote “Thank you/ Gracias [fist emoji x 3]”, which got the fans thinking if he was leaving WWE. Some even went ahead and assumed a rift in his and Flair’s engagement.

Flair responded with a tweet, clarifying that Andrade was in fact thanking his former manager Zelina Vega.

She said: “1. He was thanking Zelina. Y’all wild. 2. That said, papi will need a new manager.. [smiling face with sunglasses emoji]”

H/T to Wrestling Inc for the screenshots.

They have since deleted the tweets. But given how Vega has been drafted to SmackDown and Andrade is likely to stay on RAW, it is believable enough that he was saying farewell to her.
