As seen on last week’s episode of Raw which was the go-home show for the No Mercy PPV, Braun Strowman destroyed Enzo Amore during a segment.
During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about this and revealed that it was designed to generate some heel heat for Braun Strowman.
According to the Wrestling Journalist, it was done because, despite all the negative reports about him, Enzo has continued to be a major crowd favorite and Officials believed that beating him would get Strowman booed.
It’s interesting to note here that this week’s episode of Raw ended with a segment where the whole Cruiserweight Division turned on Enzo Amore and attacked the new Cruiserweight Champion.
After the show went off air, Braun Strowman again made his way to the ring and attacked the Realest Guy In The Roof. WWE posted the video of this off air beatdown which can be seen below:
