Renee Young Is Going After Vince McMahon

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon stepped down from the positions of Chairman and CEO. It was shortly announced that he would be making an appearance on the latest edition of SmackDown to address his absence. Stephanie McMahon, who will be filling in as the interim Chairman & CEO, issued a message to WWE staff as well.

Vince McMahon promo was lambasted

Last night’s WWE Smackdown kicked off with Vince McMahon coming to the ring to address the fans in a brief segment. Vince welcomed the fans to the show but did not mention anything about the situation. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select noted the following regarding the promo:

“I’ve received a bunch of reactions from current and former WWE talent about the Vince McMahon appearance on Smackdown that range from confused to enraged.”

An anonymous WWE talent told Fightful that the promo was “tone deaf and embarrassing.” A former WWE star gave the following statement to the site:

“I’m happy it didn’t last long, so I didn’t have to sit through whatever bullshit he was going to say. But it shows that he has no accountability, especially when something is directly his fault.”

Former WWE announcer Renee Paquette publicly reacted to the promo with a GIF and the following comment…

“Aaaaaand back to Conversations With Friends I go.”

Vince got entailed in a controversial matter. The Wall Street Journal recently unveiled that WWE is investigating a secret $3 million settlement paid to a former employee of Mr. McMahon. The probe has also scooped several claims of misconduct from former employees toward The Chairman and top executive John Laurinaitis. It is not known which member leaked the story. There are twelve people on the board. Dave Meltzer discussed the source of the leak on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. Dave was not sure who might have released the information.
