Dave Meltzer has confirmed the recent rumors that have been doing the rounds about Apollo Crews contracting COVID-19:
“So Apollo Crews was COVID. People have been suspecting it, and it was.”
Crews has been on WWE TV for weeks (June 29 to be exact), and Meltzer stated he wasn’t aware when WWE were informed that he was not going to be working Extreme Rules:
“I don’t know when they learned that he wasn’t able to do the match, but you know, when you look back, it’s been several weeks since he’s been on television, so there you go.”
