Report: Hideo Itami Out for Months with a Neck Injury

According to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, Hideo Itami suffered a neck injury after being spiked on his head during an NXT live event:

The injury will reportedly ”keep him from wrestling for months”. The timing isn’t the best as Itami is coming off of a a shoulder injury that had kept him sidelined for over a year.

That’s not good. Hopefully it doesn’t turn out to be a long-term thing, but all too often injuries like this lead to more issues down the road.

  • CC

Hope whatever the actual injury is does not end up being career threatening, in the short or even long term.
    That looked bloody horrible.

Good to see he was moving his arms and legs afterwards though. Even the ref knew something was up. It’s such a shame to see these guys, who eat sleep, and breathe wrestling, who don’t know anything else (Bryan, Kidd, Balor, and now Itami), have to sit at home for months due to injury.

Wow! That was hard to watch. He’s lucky he was not paralyzed! I can’t imagine the frustration. The guy is starting to remind me of what happened to Chris Sabin a few years ago.

  • The Killswitch

    Man…that’s horrible.

  • I cringed when I saw that. I hope he recovers quickly.

God that sucks. One after another, and he just got back. I just hope he won’t be out too long.
