Report: NXT to be heavily scripted on USA Network

The 2 hour broadcast of NXT is expected to be heavily scripted once the show moves to USA Network, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio.

This news is interesting as its rival in AEW is not expected to use scripted promos or matches as much and they are not hiring creative writers for their program.

The expectation is that AEW wrestlers will be allowed to cut promos without a script, mostly with bullet points. They will be able to memorize the promos if they want to but there will be no word to word promo.

Another interesting tidbit of news is that according to reports, some promos from this week’s episode of Raw were not scripted word to word. It’s something which fans have been complaining about from a while.

NXT will debut its Live, 2 hour-long version on USA Network on September 18th while AEW’s TV show is set to premiere on TNT on October 2nd.
