This is why he won’t turn Cena heel.

Give the fans a good product/show and it would not matter what their real lives mean. Early on WCW used to have rankings to determine who gets what spot, things such as win/loss, promos, popularity, etc. They would also try to put together matches that could suspend disbelief for the time you are watching it. At minimum you did not see the same match over and over again unless it was a best of series(Booker T/Chris Benoit for the Television Championship). Even when they did the first NWO, every knew Hulk Hogan was a character playing a role and it was amazing. No on cared what Terry Bolea did in his real life.

Makes sense, yet is kind of funny when you think of it. These days it’s harder to do and reality mixes with the in-ring fiction quite a bit. But, can you imagine other shows doing this? For example, The Walking Dead cast asked to act like they’re really their characters in public so not to ruin the immersion?
