RETRIBUTION loses a major member of the core team

It was reported earlier that WWE might change the original lineup of their new vigilante faction RETRIBUTION.

The speculation arose after Mustafa Ali was revealed to be the leader of the group on last week’s RAW. He posted a tweet explaining the reasons why each member joined the group. Fans noticed that one particular name from the original five members of the team was missing – Mercedes Martinez.

PW Insider has now reported that Martinez is no longer a part of RETRIBUTION. She has moved back to WWE NXT. Neither WWE nor any other member of the group has addressed the reason behind this decision.

Yet another tweet by Mustafa Ali further confirmed the news, where he warned all the “heroes” to “go hide”. The post had a picture of the five main members including himself, and there was no mention of Martinez’s Retaliation in it.

RETRIBUTION in WWE so far

After weeks of buildup, WWE revealed the names of RETRIBUTION members last month on RAW, but not their original identities. They showed up in masks and their trademark black hoodies on the Red brand. But to anyone who follows the NXT shows, the team members were easily recognizable.

T-Bar is Dominik Dijakovic, Mace is Dio Maddin, and Slapjack, presumably, is Shane Thorne from the black-and-gold brand. Mia Yim goes by the name Reckoning, and Mercedes Martinez went by Retaliation. Mustafa Ali has been revealed as the leader of the faction last week on RAW during a match with The Hurt Business.

PW Insider also reported the week RETRIBUTIOIN signed their contracts with WWE, that the group was being eyed for a main event match at Survivor Series.
