For those who were fans of the romance angle between Rey Mysterio’s daughter Aalyah Mysterio and former Seth Rollins associate Murphy, that angle has now reportedly been dropped. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, you can blame ‘lack of creative direction’ for the reason why the angle will no longer be moving forward. It should be noted that Aalyah Mysterio never had an actual contract with WWE and was only being paid on a per appearance deal. Rey Mysterio recently discussed the likelihood of Dominik wearing a mask in WWE
As the Observer noted: “It was just an angle dropped. There’s no backstory or behind-the-scenes story on it. I guess they had no idea where to take it and thus dropped it.”
In other news regarding Aalyah’s high-flying and dynamic father – Rey Mysterio, the former WWE Champion recently discussed WWE’s partnership with Victoria beer and his new Victoria mask in a recent interview with SI. Credit to SI for the transcription. Mysterio told the outlet the following.
“The mohawk on my new Victoria mask is a throwback to what my uncle used to wear in the early ’80s on his mask,” Mysterio says. “Right before I came back to WWE, I knew that I needed to change my outfit, and I wanted to do something different. I used to wear the baggy pants, but my son was always a big fan of the tights. He thought those looked so dope, so I ended up going back to the tights.
“I changed up my look a little bit, and I really wanted to include the mohawk. That was big for me growing up as a wrestling fan. The mohawk makes this mask stand out even more.”
