Rey Mysterio ‘Losing’ Mask To Smackdown Star?

There is absolutely no doubt that Rey Mysterio is one of the most popular and greatest luchadors to have ever stepped foot inside the world of professional wrestling and remains a beloved Superstar in WWE. On the WWE WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view, Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik Mysterio challenged Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles. They would go on to defeat Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles and become the first-ever father and son duo to win the WWE tag team titles in the company’s history. Rey Mysterio’s daughter Aalyah also returned to WWE recently.

Rey Mysterio recently spoke to Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast, where Rey Mysterio talked about the likelihood of his son Dominik Mysterio ever wearing a mask just like him.

“That was the idea from day one that he started training: Dom will continue with this legacy and carry it on,” Rey Mysterio stated. “But we never really had the opportunity to sit down and discuss our plans, which now in retrospect we can look at it and say it’s still not [too] late to make things happen like we had it planned out. So, I think Dom’s gonna have to earn the mask now, and he’s on his way. Eventually, one day, maybe the mask will be on.”
