Rey Mysterio on what he wants to leave behind

While Rey Mysterio still has time left in his contract, it is natural for him to think about the future, which might see him retire. His body has gone through a lot of wear and tear in his career, so he can take it easy. However, he wants to leave behind his legacy before hanging up his boots.

While speaking to Al Jazeera, Rey revealed what he wants to leave behind in professional wrestling. He wants to make the lucha libre style of wrestling more popular and help the rising Latino wrestlers.

“I want to leave something behind. A lot of fans will still be talking about Rey Mysterio after I am gone. But my purpose isn’t just to leave memories behind. My purpose is to help those up-and-coming Latino superstars that are bringing in this lucha libre style, and help them revolutionize the sport.”

For the time being, WWE is putting Rey and Andrade’s feud on hold, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be back eventually. After all, they still might go with the mask vs hair match at Wrestlemania. We will have to wait and see what happens.
