Rey Mysterio possibly close to signing new WWE contract

In recent weeks, Rey Mysterio has been working in the WWE with no official contract. The company had a “handshake agreement” with him that he would be paid what he used to make in his previous contract. Mysterio wanted more money but Vince McMahon declined.

Mysterio squared off against Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules where he “lost an eye.” According to various reports, Mysterio was present at WWE Headquarters earlier this week. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is expected WWE and Mysterio will finalize on a contract.

The last word is that the sides are not far from a deal and McMahon and Mysterio would be meeting once again soon to try and finalize things.

It would not be unlikely for Rey to sign another deal with the company. It would help his son Dominick become an active wrestler in WWE. He was heavily involved in the feud between Mysterio and Rollins. So it is expected fans will see more of him if Mysterio signs a new contract.
