Rey Mysterio won the WWE United States Title at Money In The Bank. However, he was injured in a post-match beatdown by Samoa Joe, resulting in him having to relinquish the title.
On this week’s RAW, came out during Raw with his arm in a sling in order to relinquish the title. This is the first time Mysterio has ever relinquished any title in his career.
Mysterio started talking about his son Dominick and how he is training to be a professional wrestler. All of a sudden, Samoa Joe’s music hit and he came down to the ring, interrupting Mysterio.
Joe said that Rey is relinquishing the title because he never beat him in the first place because his shoulders weren’t on the mat at Money In The Bank. After that, Rey just handed his title over to Joe, thus making him the new United States Champion.
Before Rey could leave, Joe applied a chokehold on the already injured Mysterio.
