Rey Mysterio reveals if he is willing to put his mask on the line for a match in WWE

Rey Mysterio has previously put his mask on the line for matches and the former World Champion is ready to it again for a match in WWE.

The high flying star recently appeared on WWE’s the Bump where he talked about a number of things including how Murphy reminds him of his younger self and more.

When asked if he would be willing to put his mask on the line for a match in the company, the former Champion said that he would do it in a heartbeat:

“If the opportunity came about, I would jump in a heartbeat [on putting his mask on the line again], I think that’s what makes Lucha Libre exciting and in this case to bring Lucha Libre to the WWE, and show the WWE Universe the excitement behind the mask vs. hair match, or the mask vs. title match. You know you put your heart out there in those matches. I would actually love to jump in the ring one of these days before I retire and put my mask on the line against something that is well worth it.”

It’s worth mentioning here that Mysterio previously lost a mask vs. hair match at WCW SuperBrawl IX in 1999 and he had to seek permission from the Lucha Libre Commission to wear the mask again due to its importance in their culture.
