Rey Mysterio talks about his current status and reveals retirement plans

Rey Mysterio, the veteran WWE star recently joined for an interview with Lilian Garcia. He opened up on his current fitness and how he treats his body for adding longevity.

 


 

Rey Mysterio gives timeline for his retirement

The former World Heavyweight Champion will be turning 45 in the next month. During the interview, he discussed how he manages keep his body fit so that he can wrestle for few more years. However, he said that he is willing to continue his career after reaching the 50 age mark.

He said:

“I’ll be 45 in December. And I don’t see myself going past 50, that’s for sure.My body feels great right now. I’ve been doing new methods of therapy – STEM cells, hyperbaric chambers, cryo chambers, CBD’s, you know, a lot of things that benefit me. I think that has given me more longevity.”

When asked about if he plans to retire in WWE, he said:

“Definitely, yes.Once you enter here, you can’t go any higher than this. This is where I’ve always envisioned myself finishing my career.”

Dominik Mysterio, the heir to the Mysterio, is following the footsteps of his father and is a great prospect. Sometime in the near future the torch will be passed to him for sure. During the interview, Rey was asked if he wants to face his son in the retirement match.

He said:

“Um, I really haven’t put thought to it, no.There are a lot of choices, though.”

Rey Mysterio has come a long way through his career spanning almost three decades. He has become one of the greatest luchadors in the pro wrestling history with recognition all across the globe. He is certainly a future Hall of Famer and there is still some more years left for the fans to witness ‘The Master of 619’.
