WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley recently defended her Women’s World Championship against Raquel Rodriguez at WWE Payback last Saturday. She also paid tribute to one of the greatest female performers and WWE Hall of Famer, Chyna.
Ripley’s gear for the match was quite recognizable for many fans of the Attitude Era as it was a tribute to Hall of Famer Chyna. It was outfit that became iconic for the former superstar throughout her short WWE career. The black gear is one that Chyna became well-known for, and it’s likely that the comparisons between the two women will now continue.

Throughout her career, Rhea Ripley has often been compared to Chyna, by both fans and her fellow stars. She has been one of the fastest-rising superstars and one of the most dominating female performers. She has also taken down male superstars similar to how Chyna did back in the day.
In an exclusive interview with Riju Dasgupta of Sportskeeda Wrestling, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels had previously compared Ripley to Chyna by taking a screenshot of one of his quotes and adding it to her Instagram stories. Shawn Michaels said the following during his exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling:
“I’m not surprised one bit of her (Rhea Ripley) success on the main roster, and she’s still so very young. She’s gonna surpass certainly, respectfully, anything that Chyna accomplished. But I don’t think that’ll ever take away from what Joanie contributed to the WWE and the sport in general,” said Shawn Michaels.
