Rhea Ripley will become the first Superstar to defend an NXT Championship at WrestleMania when she faces Charlotte Flair.
Ripley has made quite the name for herself in the company and rightfully so. Her newfound popularity has not only benefitted her but the entirety of NXT as a third brand.
In an interview with Sportskeeda, Ripley opened up about how she feels about having the support of company higher-ups and especially Vince McMahon. Reports over the week have stated that her match with Flair at this year’s WrestleMania was surprisingly a Vince McMahon idea.
It’s insane to think that all the higher-ups think so highly of me, especially coming from Adelaide, Australia to now being a part of WWE and having people like Triple H – who was the reason I started wrestling – to have him and Vince McMahon, Paul Heyman actually enjoy what I’m doing and believe in me – it’s a wonderful feeling, and I don’t know how to put it into words. It just makes me feel very special and proud of how far I’ve come in this business – and how much work, time and effort, blood, sweat and tears I’ve put into this.
Ripley is one of the top faces of NXT and she is all set to represent the Black and Yellow brand at the biggest platform in Sports Entertainment. The fact that Vince McMahon is a supporter only goes on the show that the company has immense faith in the Nightmare.
