Rhea Ripley revealed being ‘absolutely terrified’ during title win celebration

Rhea Ripley faced off against Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s Title on this past week’s episode of NXT. Against all odds, Ripley came out on top and won the title.

She spoke to Sports Illustrated, where she revealed that she was “absolutely terrified” during her celebration, following his massive victory. Her peers lifted her up in the air in celebration.

It is rare for Ripley to get picked up, so she was afraid they were going to drop her. However, she got a better view once she was actually lifted up.

“I don’t really get picked up too often, so I was absolutely terrified. At one point, they put me up on the corner of the ring, and I looked into the crowd and saw this fan named Kyle, who is always at all of our shows and everyone knows as the ‘Florida Wrestling Fan.’ I don’t know what it is about Kyle, but I feel very comfortable when he’s there, maybe just ’cause I see his face all the time. I saw him, and he goes, ‘Crowd surf!’ And I thought, ‘That is a bad ass idea.’ So I looked at the fellas around me and was like, ‘Reckon everyone can hold me for a crowd surf?’

With Ripley being the new NXT Women’s Champion, she has a huge target on her back, but it is not anything she cannot handle. Hopefully, she will have a long reign as champion.
