Ric Flair believes John Cena will not break his record of 16 World Championships

John Cena tied the record of 16 world championship victories of Ric Flair back at Royal Rumble this year and many believe it’s only a matter of time before the Cenation leader breaks the record and become a 17-Time World Champion.

However, the person who was the first to have 16 World Championship reigns in WWE, Ric Flair apparently doesn’t think it will happen.

During his recent interview with WSVN-TV Entertainment Reporter Chris Van Vliet, Flair was asked if he thinks Cena will break his record. Replying to the question Flair said no because John is ‘Winding Down’:

“No. Randy Orton is close, so is Triple H. I think John is kind of winding down. He’s got so many other things going on. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not a host on Good Morning America or The Today Show. I mean he loves wrestling but he’s got so diversified now that I don’t think I’ll see him chasing the Championship realm. But if he does, I’m all about it.”

John Cena is currently scheduled to face Shinsuke Nakamura in a #1 contenders match for Jinder Mahal’s WWE title this week on SmackDown Live.

Well heres the thing, i wasn’t exactly a huge fan growing up (for me it was all about randy savage, curt hennig and jake roberts) but even i cant deny flairs charism and things like the 4 horsemen.

Cena has just been a 1 trick poney since 2005

That’s only because Flair wrestled for multiple promotions/territories over 40 years. It’s apples to oranges. Doesn’t necessarily mean he’d better, just different. Imagine if he had only wrestled for one company for 15 years like Cena.
