Ric Flair Paid Huge Money For WWE Comeback

On the latest episode of the “Nitty Gritty Dirt Show” on RussosBrand.com, host Billi Bhatti and former WWE writer Vince Russo, discussed shocking contract details for sixteen time world champion, Ric Flair. Bruce Prichard helped Ric Flair get back on TV for the Lacey Evans angle. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Bhatti and Russo’s comments below.

Russo: Well Billi, we don’t really know how much of this might be financial. We know and it’s common knowledge that Ric Flair was a guy that didn’t save his money. Bro, I know for a fact that in TNA Wrestling, Flair had to borrow money from the company up front. That’s a fact. So you don’t know how much of this is financial and he’s going to Bruce [Prichard] and Bruce is trying to get him on the shows to get him a payday. Vince is saying – ‘Well if I am going to give him a pay day, he’s going to be doing A, B, C and D’ and maybe because Flair does need a payday he does have to do A, B, C, and D’.

Russo continued:

Russo: “So there is a lot going on here that we don’t one hundred percent, bro.

Bhatti: I think my understanding of that situation is that WWE pay him enough on his legends deal to pay his alimony and I think everything else, Ric Flair gets to keep so that’s why you see Ric Flair doing cameos and endorsements and things like that. However, WWE gave him a contract for $450,000 dollars on that legends deal – it’s bigger than everyone else.

Russo: $450,000 a year?!

Bhatti: Yeah.

Russo: Holy S**t!

Flair has been a fixture on WWE programming over the last month, with his character dating Lacey Evans, much to the chagrin of Charlotte.
