Peacock’s new documentary ‘Woooooo! Becoming Ric Flair’ documents the life of the 16-time World Champion and 2-time WWE Hall of Famer, who is one of the most talked about and controversial superstars in professional wrestling history. At the very beginning of the new documentary, Flair revealed that his birth name was Fred Phillips, something he didn’t know until three years ago.
The Nature Boy went on to say that, “I’m basically a black market baby.” The situation around his upbringing could have been far worse for the man who went on to inspire a generation of pro wrestlers.
Ric Flair was an orphan, so he didn’t know his real name until very recently. Flair revealed that he might have been abducted from his birth parents and sold to the orphanage. Flair was also adopted by two of the best individuals in the world, a father, who was a medical doctor, and a mother with a master’s degree in theater and English.
