Scott Hall had a legendary career

Hall got the huge breakthrough in the pro-wrestling business in 1982 where he worked for various promotions including the AWA. Following a short stint, Hall decided to join WWE where he achieved huge fame going by the name of Razor Ramon. He won the WWE Intercontinental Championship on four occasions, including the most memorable bout of his career – a ladder match for the title against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania X in Madison Square Garden. They had another ladder match the following year at SummerSlam that also earned him more popularity.

Hall departed the WWE for WCW in 1996 alongside his friend Kevin Nash. Originally referred to as The Outsider, they helped spearhead a wrestling boom period alongside Hulk Hogan as founding members of the nWo. During his tenure in WCW, he held the TV Title, Tag Team Championships, and United States Title. Road Dogg said he’s ‘praying’ the reports are wrong.

We offer prayers from our end to Scott Hall for a speedy recovery.

During an edition of the “DDP Snake Pit” podcast, former WCW Champion ‘Diamond’ Dallas Page discussed how he help manifest Scott Hall’s iconic look. Credit to WrestlingNews.co for the following.

“I called up Magnum (TA) and asked him if I could bring in Scott Hall and manage him. He (Magnum) said, ‘I’ve always liked Scott. Let me talk to Dusty.’ He came back on the phone and said, ‘Sorry, I can’t help you. He said he’s been up here twice already and didn’t get over.’”

Page would continue:

“I hung up the phone and then I called Scott,” Page followed up with. “I told him, ‘I have an idea where we change your look completely. We dye your hair jet black. Honky Tonk is the only one who has black hair.’ He said, ‘Ok, I’ll do it.’ I called Magnum and said, ‘What if I can completely change Scott Hall’s look?’ He said, ‘All right, just bring him up.’ I called Scott back to let him know.”

Page would conclude:

“That night, I’m watching MTV. I see George Michael and he’s got a leather outfit on, but he’s got the brush-cut beard. I called Scott at 2 in the morning. I said, ‘You have to shave that walrus mustache. You have to get that 5 o’clock shadow.’ He showed up with that brush-cut look. He looked like a movie star. We dyed his hair and nobody recognized him. That was the beginning of a two-time Hall of Famer.”
