The Rock Makes Forbes List, WWE Makes Best-Seller List, WWE Japan Spoils KENTA, JR

– As noted, WWE’s website has confirmed that a new Japanese Superstar will be signed in the ring at the July 12th live event in Osaka, Japan. This is expected to be KENTA’s signing. Raj Giri points out that WWE’s Japanese website has spoiled the signing with the filename of their announcement graphic – kenta-teaser-image.jpg.

 


 

– Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is listed at #23 on Forbes’ new Most Powerful Celebrities list. It notes that as of June 2014, Rock has $52 million in earnings from movies. They wrote the following:

“With ensemble movies like “G.I. Joe” and “Fast and Furious,” Johnson has transcended his wrestling days to become a true movie star. Now he’s graduated to leading man. With “Hercules” and 2015’s earthquake disaster film “San Andreas,” The Rock is carrying movies on his sizable shoulders. A smart businessman, he’s also branching out into TV. “The Hero” was his first stab at reality TV. Now he’s moving up to the big leagues with the HBO comedy “Ballers.” Johnson is executive producing and starring in the comedy about a group of football players.”

– Jim Ross was asked on Twitter if he will be featured on commentary in the WWE 2K15 video game and he replied, “LOL…nope.” Ross also noted that he has no plans to attend SummerSlam in Los Angeles this year.

– The new WWE 50 Encyclopedia is listed at #15 on The New York Times Best-Seller List in their Sports category. The Miami Herald notes that this is the 24th WWE title to make the preeminent list of best-selling books in the United States.
