Roman Reigns accepts challenge for match at SmackDown

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has been involved in a mystery attacker storyline from the past few weeks and the next chapter of it will be taking place on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.

During the main event segment of last week’s Raw, we saw Roman Reigns beating Buddy Murphy and forcing him to reveal the name of his attacker which turned out to be Rowan.

After this attack, Murphy took on his twitter account and challenged the Big Dog for a match at the upcoming episode of the Blue Branded Show.

Answering the challenge, the former Universal Champion said that he is all about seeing if people want to step up and he is accepting his challenge:

Now it would be interesting to see how this match factors into the ongoing story and if Rowan or his partner Daniel Bryan get involved in this bout somehow.

Buddy Murphy whines like a little bitch.

I know the comparisons have been done to the Rikishi/Stone Cold angle from back in the day, but that is not the only Attitude era influence on this angle.
For too long now feuds have tended to be one vs one (or two vs two with tag teams) and when they are over, the participants move onto their next feud, but this one has that Attitude era style of having multiple people involved. It’s not just Roman vs Bryan (who was the reported culprit), this angle involves Roman, Murphy, Rowan, Samoa Joe and Bryan. A bunch of guys who have no real connection for the most part, but hopefully through this angle we can start to see more complex storylines involving more than just one vs one.
