The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is currently sidelined with an injury. It has been noted that his former rival Drew McIntyre is also not medically cleared to compete. McIntyre was hurt at Survivor Series but kept working through the December 4 house show in Portland, ME, as he didn’t realize he was hurt that bad until he was examined after that show. and WWE’s biggest star, is also on the sidelines with an injury. Oddly enough, both stars are out with the same injury.

The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns led The Bloodline to a huge win at WWE Survivor Series WarGames last night. The show is in the history books. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens had a staredown during the match but Jimmy Uso came in with a superkick attempt which KO blocked only for Zayn to deliver a low blow. He charged in with a Helluva Kick and he then laid him down for Jey Uso who hits the Splash to win it for his team. Reigns reportedly suffered an injury during the match.

Footage of the moment he sustained the injury is also circulating on social media. A clip has now emerged that shows a furious Roman Reigns shoving Kevin Owens away during the WarGames match. The Tribal Chief was enraged at Kevin Owens for a very good reason after the match, but that doesn’t mean WWE will be changing their plans for Kevin Owens going forward. At one point during the match, Owens slapped Reigns quite hard and the unplanned spot reportedly didn’t sit well with The Tribal Chief. Reports also suggested that Reigns and Owens had a backstage altercation following the match.

Update on Roman Reigns injury

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided updates on Reigns and McIntyre.

Meltzer wrote:

“Both Reigns and McIntyre are out of action for right now due to suffering ruptured eardrums at Survivor Series. It’s a short-term thing, and both should be back soon.”

Reigns is not advertised for the post-Christmas tour that starts on December 26, while McIntyre is expected back for those shows. The first night of the tour starts at Madison Square Garden.
