Roman Reigns opens up about his battle with Leukemia

Former Universal Champion Roman Reigns recently appeared on ESPN’s First Take where he talked about his battle with leukemia among other topics.

 


 

Roman first talked about his diagnosis of Leukemia. He said that he was at the crossroads at the beginning as he couldn’t figure out if he should reveal this news to public:

“I wanted people to respect me for the work that I put in and the performer that I am. Sometimes life throws a wrench at you. It’s not exactly how you plan. It put me at a crossroads to where I had to figure out if I wanted to continue to keep this secret of mine or if I was able to tell my story and be able to connect with those who might be able to lean on it and use it as an inspiration.”

Later in the interview, he revealed how going public about his battle changed him. Reigns claimed that it was one of the better things he has done with his life and it gave him a new purpose:
