Roman Reigns ‘Removes’ WWE Smackdown Diva

Roman Reigns had added time to his segment during the Throwback edition of WWE Smackdown last week. It appears that there is a reason on why that program went a bit long as according to Fightful Select, Mia Yim, who was also known as ‘Reckoning’ in the now-defunct Retribution stable was set to debut on the blue brand. Roman Reigns is considering adding a ‘top name’ to his WWE stable.

In addition, she was also set to start a feud with former WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion, Carmella. However, her segment was cut out of the show due to time restraints. It is unclear, fully, if Mia Yim’s time being cut and Reigns’ time being added are connected in any way though.

This Roman Reigns ‘face turn’ rumor recently leaked. In other news regarding the current WWE Universal Champion and ‘Head of the Table’, Reigns debuted a new theme song that gathered a mildly mixed reaction to members of the WWE Universe. In a follow-up to this, Fightful Select is reporting that the new theme is not only to usher in a new era for Roman Reigns but has been a long time in the making. Credit to the outlet for the below.

“Roman Reigns debuted a new theme, seven years after the Shield split. Reigns spoke about getting a new theme earlier this year, but we’re told the wheels were in motion shortly after he returned at Summerslam. The work had already started on the theme six months ago at least. WWE has worked to get away from Jim Johnston and CFO$ era themes over the last year. Often times when working on a theme, it will get sent for approval and still require work, although we’re not sure if that happened here, it did with Big E’s Wale theme.”
